Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

What if you currently have clearance from another agency? would that speed up the process at all? Having changed agencies I can tell you from experience that it doesn't mean a thing. You will go through the full screening process just like anyone else. Each agency has its own process and requiremen...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

What if you currently have clearance from another agency? would that speed up the process at all? I can't be certain, but I would imagine clearance would apply regardless of position (it seems to be a national standard evaluated by independent agencies). If you needed to enhance your clearance I'm ...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

Sorry in advance for any spelling or grammar mistakes in this post, as I'm in class on the iphone. If im not incorrect, I believe that the security clearance will still be awhile. I've read other threads and people have said that they didn't recieve theirs weeks after they were on the job, not sure...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

I'm on about week 2/8 following my interview with the postal/cruise ship process.

I understand why it takes time, but its frustrating because I have a conditional offer waiting to be accepted or deferred to a university for the summer semester.

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

Just got back from the interview and I am stressing big time! It really could go either way! I'm going to be devastated if I didn't pass! I know how badly you want this position. The reason I know is because I want it just as much. The reality is that every candidate feels the same way at this stag...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

Alright, this may, coming from personal experience, not be good news for those who didn't do so great on the exams/interview. I didn't get moved on, and this is coming from an applicant who has a) numerous volunteer experience in various policing centers and policing programs, about a handful of no...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

Haha, I guess I'm in two selection processes then! Also, is anyone in here also doing Vancovuer postal / cruiseships? If yes, have you received word about your interview results yet? If I recall correctly I wrote on the same day as you and interviewed about a week after (due to illness). I'm in the...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

It's kind of strange because I only found the listings for YVR (pass ops) I didn't even know that there was a different process for postal in the Vancouver area. I would have applied as a backup just so I can have ANY experience with CBSA this summer. The YVR application process is going faster tha...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

Hi everyone. I'm in the VIA pool, did my interview yesterday and was notified today that I was found qualified. Keep your heads up, every government process takes awhile, and you'll all hear soon as it takes awhile for your security clearance to come through' (so they'll need to send your paperwork...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

Well what I can say from my process in GTA, it's actually been really pleasant. I have already completed my CFSC/CFRSC and First Aid. I'll give you a time line of the process: GCT/WCPT: Dec 1st Passing results: Dec 20th Interview: January 16th Passing results: January 22th Medical Package Received:...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

There is no "port recruitment" of students, as land ports are armed. Students are posted to either air or postal modes. After air mode becomes armed in significant numbers, postal will be the only place left (if the student program is around then). I was referring to a "port" as...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

Many of us are in different regions/processes. The pacific region hires for port/mail and airport separately, and it goes without saying that GTA applicants are in a different process. Despite that I still plan to sabotage everyone else's application IIRC the process is the same, the assigned locat...

Re: CBSA- Student Border Services Officer 2012-2013

I'm not an applicant, and my advice is pragmatic. You are not pals on here and you are not on a team yet - you are trying to take something from everyone else by outperforming them. Many of us are in different regions/processes. The pacific region hires for port/mail and airport separately, and it ...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Hi everyone, I have one question. I am almost 40 years old. Am I too old to attend CBSA job or not? My father thought that I am impossible to pass this job because of the age. Disclaimer: I'm just a student who is not currently a CBSA employee in any way, shape, or form. I think many of the CBSA of...
