Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

It is just my curiosity, during CPT stage 3 training at Kingston, will the written test questions be multiple choice questions of short answer questions?
Thanks in advance for any response. :D

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hi, everyone, One question on behalf of my friend, she applied both CX-1 position and CX-2/primary worker position. She failed CX-2 written test but was successful on CX-1 test. She wondered, if she is luck enough to become a CX-1, how can she become a CX-2 in future? Does she still need to apply l...

Re: Arming Peace Officers

As of Jan, 2018, New Jersey state correctional officers were all granted police officer status and authority, they also had their new job title as CORRECTIONAL POLICE OFFICER, which meant they could lay criminal charges to inmates right on site, and if there was an serious incident, CO can also cond...

Just wondered if there is plenty of OT at CSC?
Thanks.
Yes there is a ton. As we hire more that ot will go down. But there will always be OT.
Thanks for replying, it is good to know that there are OTs. :-)

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hi, everyone, I am going to apply CSC in the next few days. I passed their written test in Apr 2017, passed the interview in June 2017 and the psychological assessment test in Aug 2017. I wondered if any of the above successful result(s) may still be valid so I can bypass any of the application sta...

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE

There was an OPS internal posting for OPP special constable, Niagara/Burlington region. So yes there is the chance they will consider your service as a CO for the position. (I am currently also a ON. CO) The OPP offender transport you do require the ATS certificate. OPP is strict for their ATS requ...

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE

Just out of sheer curiosity, I noticed during all the hub-bub about booting Raybould-Wilson and Philpott from caucus last night on the news, a lot of the specials were wearing Team Canada hockey hats/ball caps. Or maybe this was at the Ontario legislature, I can't remember which ledge I saw it at. ...

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE

I heard this numerous times, but I don’t know if it is just a rumor or not: somebody mentioned that OPP special constable will take Ontario correctional officer as lateral transfer applicant. I personally highly doubt it, but at least three individuals mentioned this to me in the past few months. I ...

Re: Ontario Correctional Services

is anyone able to comment on the structure of tests at COTA? e.g. multiple choice, short answer, long answer, essay, or a combination of everything? 100% multiple choice Seriously? 100% "Multiple-Guess" questions? In MB correction, all the test questions in 10 weeks central training are short/long ...

Re: Rumours or not?

Hi, this question might be brought up in the past, but I just post it anyway For many intense, I heard people mentioned that Policing tend not hiring CO as they do not like the mindset of CO. So CO even stated that it might be harder to apply policing as a CO rather than applying mechanics. It seem...

Re: BC Corrections

I am currently working as a provincial correctional officer in another jurisdiction and thinking of relocating to BC. Consider the high cost of living in BC and relative lower wage, OT seems to be a MUST to me. What could be the likehood of getting OT shifts in BC? Thanks a bunch in advanced. There...
