Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

I post this because someone asked how I was doing, after the rejection this spring… I would say the standards are not that high (definitely not in terms of education); but they are very specific however in terms of the competency based requirements. Assuming everything else is clean, it will come do...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Yup, so I got deferred. Need to get more life/work experience with a focus on social/community interactions. Pretty much saw that one coming though. Although it took more like a full year (as opposed to a few months) to actually find this out, finally.

THE END

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Yeah, I guess it depends on your background investigator and how much that they got going on. You should try stay in touch with your file manager and could easily check with them with the status of your application. Have your references been getting contacted? Yes, as far as I know references were ...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Yeah, received a call from the individual that did my background and he told me that background was complete. Then after bringing in the final appointments sheet, file manager said everything was in order and going off to the selection committee. Well then I guess you know exactly where you stand! ...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Completed all eight stages and now its just waiting for the call. Anyone know how many have been hired for June's class so far? Hopefully they will be able to have a full class and reach 40. Looks like you’ve just started stage 9… “the wait”. I doubt the class will be anywhere near that large thoug...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

I'm curious about something, maybe someone in this thread can shed some light. Do other police agencies in Alberta recognize your BDI results in their own system? I know they do for the APCAT/ACT and the Aprep, but I`m unsure whether that goes for the BDI as well. The BDI results would be agency sp...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

paranoia! Relax Yeah seriously relax. I see that on April 13 you posted saying you had finished your appointments. That's only 2 weeks ago. Has your spouse or friends been contacted by the background investigator yet? When I got in 3 yrs ago I was finished my appointments at start of April. I didn'...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Hmm, I wonder what this rather extended wait at the very end really bodes for me…could it be that my file is being passed through the esteemed upper echelons of recruiting…maybe stuck in background…or perhaps sitting at the top of the pile awaiting the deferral committee meeting…Yowsers! http://imag...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

congrats Shawshank!! good luck with the rest of the process. Cheers Wow, PCwannabe, that is quite the timeline! Not sure if you already did or not, but if you didn’t, you should apply with EPS, especially since for an out-of-province application the process will be more like around a month for you,...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Nah, I’m used to waiting (in hopeful anticipation, no less!)…everything at the right time; besides, I doubt the wait will be more than a week or two in terms of news. No, the most difficult part by far would be a rejection after all that waiting and energy spent during the past year(s). On another n...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

This thread looks to be slipping down on the page rank…time to bring it back up to the top with some updates… Well I’ve now come to the end of the application process, appointment wise, it seems. I’ve completed all of the medical appointments now, and background has either already started or is soon...

Re: Edmonton Police Service Recruiting

Congrats on passing ! GL with the A-PREP on monday! how's your process coming new_applicant? Well, I did the poly and it went well (I think ). But it’s not a pass/fail sort of thing, and there was no direct feedback right after it was over either (plus I didn’t ask), so no news is good news I guess...
