My only negative point which is the reason I will be deferred is for Developing Self (not a secret as a competency since it is on the RCMP web site). My last courses or diplomas were back in 1991. Criminology courses are great but don't forget about short certificates like first-aid or weekend work...

I have not heard of any that have decided to not renew the contract. The ones that I have heard about are:
BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, PEI, Yukon, NWT

I'm pondering taking some school, I don't think I'll be applying to RCMP. In all Municipal police organizations, they require 1 year post sec (30 credits min) before applying. I live in B.C. The only 2 withdrawals that can kill you are alcohol and benzodiazepines, opiate withdrawal will just make you wish you were dead for a while and then you're okay.
