Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Hi Everybody -- I am brand new to this board (enjoying it) and I have a question. Does CBSA still consider hiring those who do not have a Criminology background or Police Sciences for fulltime positions?? I have a three year college Diploma in Communications / Media Studies. Cheers! - MG You do not...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

What is this "Integrity Interview" they are making applicants do these days? A big part of it is sitting down with an investigator and going through your past and present, and clarifying issues that may have come up during the background investigation. You are cautioned about discussing t...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

I applied online April 2013. I have remained in inventory. I received an invitation on August 08/2013 to take the written tests on August 13/2013, wow 5 days notice and no shows disqualify you. Thank goodness I happen to have that day off. I am looking for anyone out there who has ever worked for C...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I agree as well. There should be standard physical requirements like any other Law Enforcement agency. There actually used to be a physical requirement to be a CX. CSC has been looking into the establishment of a physical abilities requirement. However in the past the Canadian Human Rights Commissi...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

While you are in CTP, think before you act outside of training. If you're staying in a hotel provided by CSC-SCC, (such as Parktown in SK) the hotel staff (including restaurant and lounge staff) are well aware of who you are and why you're there. They keep in contact with the staff college and will ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I really appreciate your response Striker. Everything you said is just what I needed to hear right now. I also wanted to add that my grammar in that post is not a great representation of my grasp of the English language... I re-wrote the post a few times and missed a few words while putting sentenc...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

well said p.r. One thing I will mention..not all static security posts in a medium are armed. As for older staff (I guess I fall in that category ) interacting with new staff. I form my own opinions of new CX although there always seems to be rumors about them well before they graduate. After seein...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Hi everybody, I'd like to ask anyone who currently works for CSC if they like their job as CX-01, and what's their usual tasks; are you mostly sitting down looking at camera ? Is it a dynamic job ? Is there any options for investigations tasks ? What do you like the most/least about your job ? Than...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I will be going to CTP in Saskatoon in August and then to Edmonton. Is there any officers online that work at the Edmonton Pen? I was wondering if you are on 12 hour shifts and what the schedule is like. Thanks 7 NIGHTS / 3 OFF 7 DAYS / 4 OFF (Don't expect to work many midnight shifts as a new offi...

Slo wrote:I have seen a couple people say they are going to CTP in Saskatoon. Does this mean the training at the RCMP Depot in Regina is no longer happening? Is everyone doing training within their own region??

Depot is still somewhat of a "Pilot" project from what I have gathered..
