Re: MTO (Ontario) officers - provincewide postings
In Corrections we call the fall downs lol. I don't know why, but that just made me laugh. Lol. I was thinking, and I’m not one for body cams. Wouldn’t be nice to have this body cams and use them against management. Mine would never shut off when talking to management lol. Bodycams certainly have th...

Re: MTO (Ontario) officers - provincewide postings
Well, I can tell you your boss wasn’t put there for being nice, and I bet she has no experience as an officer, I bet also. This is literally a problem across the Public Service in Canada at pretty much all levels -- municipal, provincial, and federal. To a lot of agencies, a manager is a manager is...

Re: MTO (Ontario) officers - provincewide postings
The Auditor General gave this program a solid dressing down last year as did a risk assessment in 2018. Numbers was a big issue in the face of rapidly expanding commercial traffic and fatal CMV collisions. Get your apps in. Make them good and best of luck. BC CVSE also got a dressing down from the ...

Re: Ask A BC Sheriff
No, I do not believe so. I considered the Sheriffs once upon a time while living in the Okanagan and do not recall any institutions in the Okanagan or Thompson-Nicola that did the SOPAT.
Some research indicates that hasn't changed...

Re: [CANADA] High Demand Auxiliary Constable Location?
Wow, excellent post. Don’t apply for auxiliary, it will do nothing for your chance on becoming a police officer. Only apply if you want to volunteer and give back to the Community. Good luck This isn’t entirely correct but it’s also not wrong. I do agree with Fonthill. With your experience, I would...

Just thought I'd let everyone know that I updated the original post. A lot has changed since I last posted it (2015) and updated it (2018).

Re: Ask a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer
Hi Dshizzle, You're looking at the Carrier Safety Inspector (CSI). Even though it was posted externally, CSIs are generally recruited from experienced CVSE personnel or CVE/Traffic from other provinces. Occasionally, experienced non-CVE enforcement personnel are hired. So generally speaking, you sho...

Yeah they are gone for sure but apparently hold a site or maybe 2 under radar seen some signs. But definitely was a crazy company https://www.labour.gov.on.ca/english/es/pubs/enforcement/convictions.php Nice. I love to see good prosecutions. Somehow I missed this. I agree. I’m happy to see some enf...

I don’t know. I think we can all agree that no agency is immune to hiring idiots. It happens.

Re: BC Corrections
Hi guys, I'm considering myself as a potential applicant for BC Corrections. Just have one concern though, do traffic tickets stop you from getting in? I see the job post says driver abstract is one of the steps in Enhanced Security Clearance. Shame to say  , I have had 4 tickets on my record...

Heh... not sure what stage this 40 hour work week is at. May still be just a rumor. Been hearing this for ages since the start of the new contract and associated MOU to upgrade the Sheriff's classifications.
