Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Personally I would not suggest re-write the WCPT, all you need is a PASS mark. I was in a different CBSA competition before for a non BSO job. They did top down selection for the SJT and I was in the very last group to get interviewed because my score was just barely a pass. Had they filled all the...

Re: Canada-U.S. Border: American Police Want Legal Exemption

They want to set up a commercial (ie trucks) pre clearance facility in Fort Erie but sans enforcement as well because the whole having US Customs being moved to Canadian soil idea got quashed. m Was looking at that today. No thanks.[/q] I think it was a terrible idea when they wanted to move the wh...

Re: Canada-U.S. Border: American Police Want Legal Exemption

I'm pretty sure there is a pre-clearance rail facility in the Windsor area... I'm assuming he meant a pre clearance facility where they do enforcement. They want to set up a commercial (ie trucks) pre clearance facility in Fort Erie but sans enforcement as well because the whole having US Customs b...

I suggest Maria go back to Mexico and apply for welfare there if she is really that concerned about her daughter.

Re: Best Dressed Cars of 2012

So who drives the CBSA vehicles? G4S security guards doing prisoner transport? No. CBSA transports their own...for the most part. G4S is contracted to transport regulatory immigration cases. Anything criminal, is dealt with by our own...or police. And those "regulatory immigration cases" ...

Re: Ford Interceptor silent partner issue.

So you handcuff everyone before putting them in the back? What about giving someone a lift, or a person you are giving a breath test to, or a witness you are taking a statement from- you know, people you have NO LEGAL AUTHORITY to handcuff??? Tell the CBSA that... Well, prior to the no transport po...

Re: Terry Jones refused admission to Canada, thank god.

I actually came here when I saw this story on Yahoo News today (the USA edition) so kudos gotchya. I think it's pretty obvious the REAL reason why he was denied and the criminality reasons are pretty flimsy IMO. Had he refused to withdraw, I bet everyone at Windsor would have pooped their pants. Thi...

Re: Border Security Canada: NatGeo (w/Preview)

Caught a couple of episodes recently. One guy had a conviction for assault with conditions about owning/possessing weapons. He said he didn't have anything on him or in his vehicle so they searched his car and found a baton in his glove box. He played dumb and when he got detained to wait for the R...

Re: 2,900 being stripped of fraudulently obtained citizenshi

Nice to see that at least SOMETHING is now being done...we'll see how much success we will have...I can foresee "humanitarian-compassionate-best interest of child-etc-ad nauseam" kicking in....and 1 out of every 1000 ACTUALLY being forced to leave Canada. If you read the article, it state...

Re: Possibly the most annoying car "feature"

You know what I find is the absolute worst car company for having idiots who constantly push the buttons? Toyota. But, at least Toyota doesn't use the horn... They use that electronic "meep meep" noise. It's just that I've noticed SEVERAL occasions where I'll hear the "meep meep"...

Re: Possibly the most annoying car "feature"

Anyone else see the ad on TV for Nissan, where they demonstrate the "feature" of a tire pressure sensor that honks the horn when you reach the right pressure? Holy cow that would be annoying. I can see the benefit of a low-pressure sensor, but I'm pretty sure I can fill it on my own. Almo...

Re: Border Security Canada: NatGeo (w/Preview)

I think wanted felons is fair terminology in the circumstances...they are felons and they are wanted (in the states, presumably) and our courageous CBSA officers are keeping them out. Inland enforcement mainly goes after people who have immigration violations... I did notice the one's jacket said &...

I guess you never saw the documentary "The Undefended Border"?

True, it was more what immigration does, but still, good video.
