Re: RCMP British Columbia applicants

It's been said before, but maybe it should be said again. Pay attention.....People who join from BC may not go back there. I'm compelled to say this due to a certain new member we are saddled with who is moaning and dripping that they "were sure they were going to the LMD" , and not doing ...

Ha! That sounds an awful lot like a CF-type of operation. Maybe a BPSO office ??

Re: Passed LFI on spot but received letter in mail.

True.

When I wrote for a muni service they called everyone that wrote and told us all we failed.

A week later they realized they used the wrong marking guide...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

While we're on the discussion of SC, I'll fire a question. Better now than ever! Did anyone go through the the process with a pre-existing lower level SC, and, if so, how long did it take to get your new SC processed? I know timelines vary and all, but I just want to get a ballpark figure. I had a ...

Re: Free booze for homless alcoholics!

The worst part is that it isn't a big surprise this is going on.... At the least I would hope they are all on conditions to provide a breath sample on demand of a PO and be breachable if it's a fail. But probably not. During a recent bail hearing for the town drunk we were told we were unfair for pu...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I just reread my last statement and realized how rude it sounded, sorry! No offense meant! I assume from your post that the divisions are not geographical? I was under the impression I was applying from H Division.... None taken. Members of the RCMP are part of a division. Applicants are not. The d...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

No worries MaximumPrime, if I had known that, I wouldn't have asked. Thanks! It's no secret that its a written test, followed in some cases by an interview IF required. And before Van Smack drops in and shits on you, understand that you are an applicant from Nova Scotia, you are not from H Division...

Re: Police Force with Allergies

A member on my watch has so many food allergies I actually don't know how she survives, or what kind of crazy "food" she lives on....but she is a long serving well respected member and does just fine ! There are a few members at my detachment with some very curious allergies....... Can't g...

Re: Application question

Tango5 .... The fact that BC agencies even bother to setup at a career fair is laughable in itself, since they have an over abundance of rock solid applicants for the very few openings they need to staff. For the OP....take something useful. Definitely not PF. It's more about having the traits to co...

Re: Preferred Background for Applicants

Find a job where you deal with childish, lying assholes all the time, without letting them get to you. Show that you are good at this and can still keep a good attitude, sense of humour (critical ! ) and that you are not a lazy shit yourself. That's the person I want to work with, I don't give a shi...

Packing my stuff for Depot tomorrow, any tips on the amount of work out gear to bring from former cadets or current cadets? Thanks. Critical Eqt - earplugs and eyeshades !! And a small alarm clock that is easy to shut off. Then you may avoid the code reds from angry troopmates the first Saturday mo...

is anyone can tell me how it goes when the training is completed at depot? how many time they allocate you to move? do we have time to be with our family before we leave to our posting? How does it work? I arrived "home" on a Wednesday afternoon, and left for my post on Friday morning. I ...

Re: Depot Troop 8: April - October

If you find yourself standing around Reg airport and no one has collected you (you are easy to spot).....then look for a navy blue minivan out front that says "RCMP Security" on the side. He's your ride to the guardroom.

Normally someone will be there, but if not it's a very short cab ride.
