Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE

Conditions: train. Sometimes bus.
Pay: that's in the job ad if you're curious.
Days off: here and there
Support: I would imagine. And i would imagine you'd get more from the front line than you would from management.

Now.

Who is yo daddy....what does he do.

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE

I understand where you're coming from. No worries lol The city is broken down into a number of patrol zones. The Unit will give you a list of what patrol zones/neighbourhood officer/VRP spots are open (because we have guys with 30+ years and you ain't getting their spot) and you select your top 5 of...

Re: Opinions On Post-Secondary Education?

I would wait until you have your degree to write your tests. Discipline, and if policing falls through you have a backup plan, which Services respect a great deal.

Re: CISM/PTSD: Debriefing and Awareness Training

My wife is a coordinater with a GTA police service who's CISM team covers police, fire and EMS. As far as I'm aware the majority of her training has been in the US, she's been to Atlanta twice as well as Baltimore a couple of times for courses. I'll see if she knows of any local training and get ba...

Re: Toronto ETF (the security company)

Gun. Point. Takedown. 'nuff said. Actually....few more points: - finger control...non existent. - Chick (who has her hair in perfect pull-out-of-her-scalp position) run right in front of his line of fire - WTF??? In other videos, they have unlawful arrests (using RPG for an assault arrest), and my t...

Re: Community Patrol Officer - Toronto Housing

For people looking to apply to us. The only question I want you guys to ask yourselves is do you want to go out there and make a difference. This is a job where you'll be going out, building rapport with people in the communities and looking to find a solution to all the problems they bring forth t...

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE

Devilwoman, ever thought of being a recruiter? OK....I am going to save you the bother and go hurt myself now.... You've known me for what, ten years? You think that would be a good idea? Lol. At least people would get an answer as to their deferral right away. "Why didn't I get hired?" C...

Re: Community Patrol Officer - Toronto Housing

Crimedoesntpay, What was the application process like for you? How long did it take? I applied to the recent posting and have been in contact with the HR coordinator at Toronto Community Housing handling the hiring for this position. From my date of application to hiring date was close to a year. T...

Re: Community Patrol Officer - Toronto Housing

Guy in the job here. Let me know what questions you have. I'll do my best to answer. DO NOT ASK ME ABOUT: 1) When are we hiring? 2) How many people are we hiring? 3) What are my chances of getting hired? I work front lines, not recruiting. I can give you an idea of the job, but I can't get you one. ...

Re: Honest opinion about my past.

School suspension??? HTA ticket???? Pull your application now, dude. Its all done for you. First of all, what school suspends someone 7 days for not telling on someone? That is ludicrous. Second off, I've been suspended in school for fighting. I still have a tin. You were a kid. Did you learn from i...

Re: TCHC Special Constable Jobs 13 Spots

CSU Officers are assigned patrol areas within the City. Typically you can patrol any community within that area, plus whatever special assignments come up for that tour. CSU S/Csts are appointed under Section 53 of the Police Services Act under the authority of the Toronto Police Service. They are e...

Re: TCHC Special Constable Jobs 13 Spots

You may never hear from your BG investigator. When I was getting sworn in, I only heard from TPS to clarify a few things.

Obviously YOU think you're good. They want to know what EVERYONE ELSE thinks lol
