Re: 5.11 Tactical Stryke Pants

The Derks pants fade and look bad after a while. The Strykes will still fade a bit but will wear better. The little pockets in front are good for your knife if it has a belt clip. The cargo pockets aren't massive but they work fine. The inner pockets are good for carbine mags; just snug. Overall, mo...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Hello all. I have a question for regular member or even for Depot web. What's are the chance that you will be ship up north in you first posting(if you ask it) after you graduate? (Like Nunavut) Depends if there are spots open up there. During your first staffing meeting, you can tell them that's w...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

I have just a quick questions regarding confidentially. I was recently an applicant of the RCMP but did not go past the polograph stage. Is the information revealed to the the police officer during the polograph confidential? Will it come up in a background check let's say for work or another polic...

Re: Question for RCMP members about cleaning pants.

What caught my eye in this thread is someone saying the breaches might be worn 10 or so times per year so dry cleaning shouldn't be a big deal. I went 3 years before I had to wear my breaches. I'm going for 4 years this time around!

Re: RCMP vs. Municipal Services

As much as I complain about this organization, the RCMP does get you a chance at more/different sections compared to the muni forces. Although that can always depend. Take Toronto PS for example: They're massive so I'm sure the opportunities are good. Same probably goes for Peel, Vancouver, Montreal...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Ha, couple things about that video and that recruiting standards pic... -When we did our PT class warm ups just a few years ago, I felt like I was in a friggin time portal back to the 40s or 50s!: doing those old school stretches and wearing the gross knee high socks and those atrocious cotton short...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

General question for anyone who can answer or has an opinion. I had begun an application for an army reserve unit in my area shortly after writing my RPAT. At the time I completed my selection package I honestly answered no to the portion regarding military experience since I had not yet been accep...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Ahh hahaha, just saw the video. It's a shame, the dark haired one is kinda cute! What's really going to rot the current applicant's socks is a few years ago, BC had an accelerated process that would get you to Depot in 3 months!! Yes sir, 3 months. I think you'd be at Depot and they'd still be doing...

Re: RCMP APPLICANT GENERAL CHIT CHAT

Can you bring a bicycle to Depot? I won't have a vehicle, just thinking of other options for getting around. Yup, you can bring a bike. I had a troopmate that brought his but he barely used it. You can rent/borrow bikes from Depot. I don't remember what the rules were though with taking them off ba...
