Re: Letters of appreciation

Definitely pass on compliments to the detachment commander. Whenever I get really good service I make sure to recognize it with that person's boss (service industry, government agencies, etc) because usually the only time a supervisor hears from someone is when complains. On another note, was this f...

Re: Firefighters set to work 24-hr shifts

Where I live we have a composite fire department and it works quite well. I don't know why politicians are so afraid to stand up to the firefighters' union. As it stands now they get paid as much, or more, to sleep than a cop who's out there actually working. To me that's just not right. For what it...

Re: Impaired Ruling

Edited to add: regarding the refusal of the ASD and wanting to go for the Datamaster test, you have the right to request a Datamaster test AFTER you have already provided a sample into the ASD (at least in BC you do), but not before. i.e. if you don't believe the results are accurate, you can reque...

Re: New driving law in Ontario is discriminatory: Wiener

When these kinds of things are happened there is fundamental problem in the court system in this country. It should never ever have been allowed to get to this point. That's why BC is implementing the IRP and all of the other fun stuff that's coming up. An unintended consequence of the defence lawy...

Re: Drive without Due Care - help, please

First off, be prepared to argue the case for to get the conviction should he choose to dispute the VT. The fine is minor when you consider that it will get him 6 driver premium points which will cost him dearly over the next few years. If the guy pleads guilty then the JJP will likely ask if you hav...

Podhalan,

Since the spa is for you and your special day it might help if you mentioned what you were looking for. Each spa has a unique character and feel to it.

Professional Firefighter - A "job" in which you get paid (as much or more than a police officer) with a shift differential to sleep.

Re: Read any good books lately?

I recently finished reading "Arresting Communication" by Jim Glennon. A pretty good book, but I'm probably a little biased.

I also like to sign out books from the library (because I'm a cheap SOB) and will usually pick up a police or detective fiction.

Re: Police stopping vehicles

The cheater is wrong on a lot of the fine amounts. The big change has been the liquor tickets, $230 for consuming in public. Yikes!

I've had a few VTs sent back from MVB because the fine amount was wrong, so each time I update my cheater.
