Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Within this process, you might as well stay positive. I had my first PW interview 2.5 years ago - all references were checked, and I was put in a pool.. Same with a Cx-1 posting last year. Both pools expired, and this year I got to go through the same process all over again- this time having to do t...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I just got the same email. I'm not sure how the dates of your level one completion fit into everything, but when I got my initial email stating that I had been placed in the partially qualified pool, the validity date of the pool was August 31, 2012. They are now extending it to March 2013. I am goi...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I see that a few people on here will be starting their CPT's as CX-1's. Any Primary Workers get invited to start CTP as well? Apparently Prairie Region is the only region hiring PW's in the summer. I am wondering this as well.. I had applied only to the Atlantic region for PW, but have been placed ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Be patient. If you want something bad enough you will wait for how ever long it takes. This has been my mantra for the past year. It gets easier if you're not constantly thinking about it, which can be especially hard after a positive interview. I learned that the hard way after being put in the PW...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Anyone else applied for Atlantic Region in January 2010? I have. I'm also in the primary worker pool for Atlantic, however the CX-1 posting is more likely to come up first. Did they give you any indication when they might have a class start? They told me at my interview they hoped for April. Finger...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Has anyone here had a long wait to hear back after their references were checked? I had my interview in March and my references were checked within 2 days of the interview. I wasn't offered a spot in CTP until sometime in May - however it was for a region that was my 6th choice. I am still waiting ...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I just got the email offering me a spot in PAC for the primary worker posting. PAC was my last choice- so I am unsure if I decline if it will take my application out of the competition all together, or just that particular region. I'm in atlantic canada, so I have lots to think about over the next 1...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

I had my primary worker interview a month ago tomorrow - my references were all grilled as of 2 weeks ago, so now I wait . Patience is not my strong suit So the PAC is having CTP in June? At my interview, they said that Atlantic was going to go the route of online training, and they hoped to start a...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Correct me if I am wrong Shea, but the "test" in Shea's signature is the test administered after completing the online portion of CTP training.

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

Boo. That sounds a lot like talking about feelings. I'd much rather have firearms training than talk about feelings Then you should change your mind and apply for CX position vice a PW one. I have allot of respect for PWs, I don't think I can ever do their job, nor would I want to. Either way, good...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

They go through the same training at the same college. The difference is the 2 weeks CX recruits are on the firearms range, PW's are getting 2 weeks of "woman centred" training. Seriously, I'm not making that up. Boo. That sounds a lot like talking about feelings. I'd much rather have fir...

Re: Applying to Correctional Service Canada

What's with the the haters in this thread as of late? Anyways, 2 questions about the medical - Is there one for Primary Workers? It was never brought up in my interview, nor was it mentioned when we discussed the next steps of the process. I am assuming there is one, but wanted to verify. Also, doe...
