Re: RCMP LWOP (Leave Without Pay)

Has anyone ever taken lwop within the RCMP? I'm mulling it over to allow my wife to do something she's always wanted to do (join military). I would be looking after kids while she would be away/busy. I'm thinking of leave of about a year. Is it easily granted? What is the process to return to work ...

Re: Canadian Coast Guard

One thing I've learned about the force in my 26 years, the more options in your back pocket when it comes to dealing with staffing, the better. Graduating from CCGC with a master or 350t ticket in your resume is huge. We have 4 patrol boats on the west coast and 1 east, although I would not enjoy a ...

Re: Ford warranties

Bit late on commenting, but do you have access to a CDR kit and a collision analyst or recon near you? A download of your vehicle EDR may show you what the Ford scanner is seeing and saying is this " sideways" event. Problem, these non deployment events, which are events that are recorded ...

Re: How many Police Cruisers are in Canada?

RCMP has approx 8600 vehicles, no way to break it down to marked patrol cars without getting a province by province number.

Re: 30kph Speed Limit for Residential Streets -- Opinions?

@ Maximum_Mu I am not offended in any way, and I hope you weren't offended by my remarks. I am well acquainted with the pressures and constraints Policemen/women are required to work with, especially now that you have to spend up to 40% of your time just feeding information into PRIME instead of be...

Re: 30kph Speed Limit for Residential Streets -- Opinions?

I like how Homer thinks, the road should dictate the speed limit.........and the majority of drivers actually do safe speeds, even when they don't know what the limit for that area is..... because they tend to drive more alert to their surrounding conditions. The engineers in our community say exac...

Re: Leduc County - 2 2010 CVPI w/ Package For Sale

Stephen Covey will be our saviour???? Maybe that's why the new buzzword is "silo". Problem is the animals continue to eat the feed, at the bottom of the silo, there's no oxygen, our officer corps continues to go further into the silo looking for the problem, they're all suffering from asph...

My Tahoe is at 185K, a CVPI I drove yesterday is over 200K, we have one at a garage with a tits up tranny at 187K, and no replacements in sight for any........we are broke, the province is broke, and its going to get worse.
