Re: CBSA Boots?

I am quite liking the Keen CSA at the moment. Not side zip but the top has quick lace hooks - about the same time it takes to sidezip a boot.
Around the office is a mixture of Keen/SWAT/Magnum with a good smattering of Redwing and the odd CAT boot.

This has been ongoing for me, both at work and home. It will sign in, but not stay signed in if I click into any forum, or topic.

Re: Danner boots Canada

Urban tactical (Winnipeg, and a location in Ontario) is a dealer for them. When I was looking for some boots (csa) they said that they are backordered indefinitely? Maybe better luck for non CSA Dancers?

Re: Ask the CBSA!

So you fully gamed the system and are encouraging other recruits to do the same? My wife was offered a great position in another city and I used leave that was duly bargained for in our collective agreement. Ya, I sure gamed the system. I didn't read that until later. My apologies. My point still r...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

There is always spousal relocation which can expedite a transfer. As long as you are either married or common law and your spouse actually moves to wherever you are sent with you. After you get your FB-3 if your spouse were to get a job elsewhere, doesn't have to be federal government, you can use ...

Cbsa Insight - Thank you, thank you, thank you. Its great that you are on here. Finally real, reasoned answers to our questions. Did I say Thank you already I wonder if a good system would be like the Ontario Provincial Police. They let you select your 3 top detachment choices, and although not gua...

Re: CBSA Boots?

I'm confused as to what the big draw is with side-zips boots for duty use. I'd be willing to guess that the failures that people are talking about here aren't during moments of strenuous exertion (for the most part) so why even roll the dice with it when the worst possible time for a failure is whe...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Just wondering how long the CBSA recruits program has been running? This winters intake were the 9s. So if there are 2 intakes a year what happened 4 or 5 years ago before 1a 1b and 1c etc? Did it get to 100 and then they reset the numbers back to zero? Or is this all new? It was a very different r...

I have tried to find more info on the social package CBSA offers (pension plan/number of vacation weeks). Is it possible to know more details?

Research this thread. Or FB contract. Or public service pension plan.

Re: Ask the CBSA!

What would be the best path for "inland enforcement?" Is it a realistic possibility for an average bso to achieve eventually or extremely coveted and competitive ? I have heard of external applicants applying directly to inland enforcement in the past ... Not sure how reliable the source ...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I don’t know what the numbers say exactly, but even if only 30 percent pass, that’s still 750 people moving on to the interview stage… I am sure they all were for CBSA. I talked to a lot of people before and on break. 750 moved towards the interview, and then some fail, then there's psych, security...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

I know in previous years this used to be explicitly stated that a top down selection may be utilized. This shouldn't be a surprise. Employers always want the best candidate.
