Re: A renewed call for a firearms registry

Absolutely not. The firearms registry in all respects is a stupendous waste of time and money. Absolute garbage. Also, do not assume that the intentions of those pushing gun control are in any way honest or well-meaning. The politicians know gun control is useless and ineffective, and they don't car...

Re: Adding ventilation to drum brakes?

The only thing drilling holes will do is allow mud water and other contaminants in and not only negatively impact your braking power but also prematurely rust and wear the components. I am an avid 4 wheeler and built my own 1-ton jeep fyi Oooh, awesome. I can perhaps pick your brain when I start do...

Re: Adding ventilation to drum brakes?

There's a factor that I neglected to specifically mention that I think is not being factored in here. The process also involves drilling ventilation holes around the outside edge of the backing plate for air to enter into. Now, I was thinking about this, and I'm thinking that with such a setup, the ...

Re: Adding ventilation to drum brakes?

CRV is built on the Civic platform, so the rear discs from a civic or I believe an acura integra are a drop in fit except for the lack of caliper brackets. Those would have to be aftermarket or possibly custom, I think. There are definitely guys who have retrofitted discs onto the rears of the CRV. ...

Adding ventilation to drum brakes?

Has anyone had any experience doing this? I have a 1st gen Honda CR-V that I often take offroading. It's an awesome little vehicle that does amazingly well on the narrow, steep, rutted roads of BC's forests. The downside of the vehicle is that being what Honda calls "real-time 4wd," which ...

Oh, believe me, there's about $5000 worth of guns I would buy right this second if I actually had the $$$$. The eternal problem - too many guns to buy, not enough money to buy them with. :(

Re: Guns, an investment.

On the topic of buying guns, It's a dangerous time to buy semi-auto's. I know a guy who just bought a Tavor and I cringed a bit inside. I guess a stripped AR receiver wouldn't hurt if you don't have one yet, but I wouldn't gamble thousands of dollars on the current government following previous one...

Re: S&W 5946 R.I.P

Dave, I totally agree and I've been harping on the useless and stupid mag disconnect on our Px4 since day one.

As for chambering with action open and topping up - we at CBSA would get disciplined for topping up. Could you write to CBSA management about this issue? :P

Re: Wild Hogs in BC?

Busy life and lack of willing hunting buddies has kept me from pursuing this so far, but there's a chance it might happen this November. I'll post if we find any. Thanks for the info guys!

Re: RCMP auxiliary officers furious with proposed changes

I have a very good friend who is a retired police officer from a small US town. He was an officer for 25+ years, and the last several he worked a lot of time as a volunteer. He rode solo, did his own investigations, etc. only difference was that he didn't get paid.

Not sure if that's the norm or not.

Re: Toronto police rolling out carbines

I've come to the conclusion that no matter what police do, what they wear, what they carry, it will cause someone, somewhere to take offence or be intimidated. I think you're absolutely correct on this, and it's something that annoys me to no end. I've NEVER been intimidated by even the biggest, bu...

My favorite new term is variant It can't be found defined anywhere in any legislation but being a variant makes something prohibited or restricted Begs the question of what is a variant and how do you prove it is a variant SVD Dragunov is a perfect example. Semi-auto only precision rifle, designed ...
