There has been speculation if we do go to a dark shirt as to when this will happen in my detachment and the consensus seems to be when the Queen passes away, because they'll have to change the shoulder flashes anyway (assuming the new King changes the crown.) There has been discussions on the board...

In this day and age it probably doesn't matter but I think a 6ft police officer looks a lot better in uniform that a 5ft police officer.

I recall the days when the minimum height was 6ft.
