A question for police officers

Im currently in a debate on another forum and would like the input of Law Enforcement Officers. The argument is about one guy (non-military, non-LEO) who believes it's his right and duty to carry a non-restricted weapon (In this case a Remington 870 Shotgun) in his vehicle 24/7 just in case he comes...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Well lets just say that the interview did not go well... actually that would be an understatement. I am not what they are looking for. I'm sorry to hear that man. Did they give you a reason why? I think it was a mixture of forgetting my resume of all bloody things, not knowing the answer to one que...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Do you not see the flaw in your own logic? I bet the people who you didn't think would be good RCMP officers passed all the RCMP's testing requirements. What's the point of having the test otherwise? Everyone should just be allowed to walk into the job and try it, because they might be a really fin...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

* "Lousy point"? What are you trying to say? * This was a mild expression of sympathy. Look it up. We all try to the best of our abilities, and a pat on the back to someone that didn't make it doesn't hurt anyone. It is possible to be a hard-ass public servant without perpetuating the per...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

"Lousy point"? What are you trying to say? He bombed the BSOT and feels there is some sort of onus that falls on the CBSA to re-score his Scantron and find an extra point so that he passes by the absolute minimum required? Give me a break - is 50% that much better than 49% (either way, yo...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Damn airlines! Ticket price was only supposed to be $250 plus taxes... I forgot about all the other hidden fees so it turned into $319 plus taxes instead! But anyways my interview is set, bought my plane ticket, and now I just wait. I'll get to spend 8-9 hours in YVR for a 1 hour interview! Drache,...

Re: Ask the CBSA!

Hello everybody. I just got word from CBSA that I did not pass the interview this time. I am disapointed. I have previously passed the BSOT test, Interview, Background check, Rigaud, and Officers Powers. I had great references from present CBSA management from my years as a officer in Ontario and B...

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Ok got word today, my interview is on June 29th at 1pm! I'll most likely just fly down that morning and fly home that night. If I drive down the day before and spend a night in a hotel the cost will work out about the same ($300). So what is there to do in YVR for about 8 hours?

nyte ryder wrote:The interview and the psych test will not be on the same day. Sometimes, they are even months apart. You need to pass the interview first (and have some time elapse) before undergoing the psych test.

Thanks for that update! Now it will be two trips down to Vancouver....

Re: GENERAL CBSA APPLICANT CHIT CHAT

Soooo pretty much the same thing as the Ask the CBSA thread? To help keep that thread clean! Applied in April and by the last week of April I was supposed to write a test. The test was canceled 30 minutes before starting because Air Canada "misplaced" the testing booklets. By the first we...
