Re: Toronto Police Service
Serving police officers get deferred all the time and have the same questions/concerns that fresh applicants have. Recruiting or "talent acquisition", as it now called, won't provide any more clarification to a serving officer as to the reasons. Unfortunately, none of us on here can provide any insi...

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE
They'll never fault you for not knowing exact dates on where you lived, speeding tickets, police interactions etc if they happened far back in the past. I'm not sure if the background for Specials has changed, but I think they look for ten years in the past for items such as employment, residences, ...

Re: ASK A SPECIAL CONSTABLE
And talking with a lot of friends that are in policing. No police officer wants a rat cam. Your a pice of work. Maybe Toronto police instead of focusing on cameras should focus on health and safety and equipping special constable with sidearms and hiring more police for the street. I can tell your ...

Re: Toronto Police Service
TPS divisions noted on a variety of schedules in November, so it depends on the division you work at. Some stayed on the compressed (7/5), others went to the 7 on/7 off (11 hour shifts - ) and others to the 12s (4/5/5/4). That being said, its more than likely the service will go to the 12s a...

I can guarantee you’re not going to get an answer on this in a public forum.
On a side note, SWAT is a US term. ETF is the correct terminology for TPS.

Re: OPC Closed Until June
I heard that the next intake has been postponed. It was supposed to start on May 6th, so pushing it back 1 month would still get the recruits out before the fall class comes in. But then again, who knows if the covid19 situation will be better by then. It won't be. It will be months before we see t...

Re: Police services and ATS
Yes, that’s the rumour they did. Which makes me think they committed a huge fraud. Most companies know their financial situations and usually go through a bankruptcy process which includes lawyers, accountants, financial advisors, etc.. ATS continued to willingly and knowingly take funds from people...

Re: A renewed call for a firearms registry
Do we not have enough nuts on Facebook about this kind of stuff already!? I don't think anyone asking this question is a nut. I think many lawful people have these concerns, including first responders and military who also happen to be lawful firearms owners. I find it funny that police get dragged...

Re: New recruits at an all-time low
I've made no bones about the fact I despise ATS. In fact, when I was hired I pretty much burned the certificate. My annoyance with ATS isn't that it's required or even paying. It's that they are not transparent in their marking schemes and how much they charge for persons needing to reschedule. Bein...

Re: Toronto Police Service
It's not a requirement. That being said, don't think the trainers at TPC won't be harsh on you if you roll into training shaped like a potato and struggling to hit a 50 on it. They will also expect to see improvements in the mark's when you return from OPC. The PIN is far easier to train for as ever...

Re: Store Security releasing offenders
I think the program is a good idea, especially if your call volume is busy. He arrested 4 people for stuff under $10? How about getting the stuff back and telling them to take a hike? I I've told him that. Get CCTV footage, post their pics for his staff and next time bring them in. He refuses becau...

Re: Store Security releasing offenders
I work in 52 and can tell you the amount of Theft Under calls we get are insane. We have one LPO who owns his own company and use some his SGs to watch people he's arrested while he goes out and arrests more. For amounts as minimal as $3. I'm not kidding. One day he had 4 people arrested and each wa...

Re: Fire to police
[ Where do you work? That is BS. Admin can be done on shift. Reports can be done on shift. You are screwing the membership by showing up on VOT to do paperwork as you show we don't actually need more members because the X amount we have can do it all in their shift. Essentially you're making a bad ...
